Wilbur "Will" W. Krauth of Lompoc died Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at the age of 92.
Will was born May 9, 1922 in Corning, Iowa to Ralph and Mabel Krauth. He was raised and educated in Corning before graduating from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. He later earned a master's degree in education from the Iowa State University in Iowa City.
Will was drafted into military service during World War II and served in the United States Air Force at McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.
Formerly of Sioux City, Iowa, Will has been a resident of Lompoc since 1964. He was an administrator at several elementary schools in Lompoc and taught accounting and business law at Allan Hancock College. As a resident of Lompoc he has been a member of the Kiwanis Club, the First Presbyterian Church, the Santa Maria Senior Center, the Cotillion Dance Club and the First United Methodist Church of Lompoc.
Will enjoyed traveling. He and his wife LaVonne were frequent visitors to Europe, Central America and Greece, the country of birth of their son Jimmy Demetrius Krauth.
Will is survived by his wife LaVonne Krauth of Lompoc and his son Jimmy Krauth of Nipomo.
The graveside funeral service will be on Monday, November 3, 2014, in the Lompoc Evergreen Cemetery at 2 pm. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
