Bill Thompson peacefully entered Jesus' outstretched arms on Sunday, December 10, 2023. He is survived by his devoted wife, Prue, of 45 years; his two sons, Victor and Matthew (wife Jenni); three grandchildren, Ty, Bryce, and Jaqi; stepmother Marie; and stepsiblings Glenn, Mary, Cheryl, and Michael. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Nellie Thompson, and his younger brother Danny.

Bill, a proud native of Cleveland, Ohio, was an avid Browns fan. In his late twenties, he left his hometown to enlist in the United States Air Force. After a distinguished 22-year career, Bill transitioned to work for the Santa Barbara County Juvenile Justice System in Santa Maria. Following 13 years of service, he embraced retirement with enthusiasm. During this time, he devoted himself to perfecting his golf game, staying updated on sports, cherishing moments with Prue, and keeping a close eye on his sons' lives. Unfortunately, Bill's health took a downturn in 2019 after his second heart attack, leading to complications from congestive heart failure in the subsequent years.

Bill will be profoundly missed by his family and friends, remembered as a warm, loving husband, brother, father, grandpa, and friend.
