William (Bill) E. Gile Sr, MSgt (Ret), age 78, went to be with his heavenly father on March 17, 2010 after a long battle with cancer. Bill was a resident of Lompoc, CA for 44 years. He was born on December 10, 1931 in Scandia, KS, to Walter A. and Esta P. Gile.

Bill proudly served his country for 23 years in the US Air Force, where he met and married his wife of 53 yrs, MaryAnn Perry on December 26, 1954. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked for Sperry Rand Corp and UNISYS for 15 years before his final retirement.

He enjoyed watching his children play their sports, playing and watching golf and loved traveling in their 5th wheeler.
Bill is survived by his sister Mary and Keith Young of Bridgeport, TX; children Bob and Cheryl Gile of Colorado Springs, CO, Bill Jr and Kim Gile of Lompoc, CA and Beth and Paul Taporco of Derby, KS; his grandchildren Michael Thiltgen, Paul Anthony (Barbara) Taporco, Crea (Rob) Klinkerman, Thera and Nathan Gile, Kristin (Christopher) Espino, Crystal and Jason Taporco, and Kory Gile; his great-grandchildren Jordan Crone, Michael Steele, Dayton Taporco and Gus Klinkerman.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife MaryAnn, sister Eva and grandson Jeffrey Thiltgen.

Bill will be missed by his family, friends and church family. Rest in Peace with your Heavenly Father.

A Memorial Service was held on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at 1:00pm at the First Christian Church, 1517 W. College Ave, Lompoc, CA.
