Obituary

Willis B. Allen of Lompoc passed away at his home Thursday, April 12, 2007, at the age of 81.

Willis was born September 19, 1925,in Livingston, Montana to Marqurite and Harvey Allen. He attended grade and high school in Columbus, Montana. After graduating in 1944 he went into the U.S. Army Air Corp then in 1947 the U.S. Air Force. On November 17, 1948 he married Mary Lou Hovland in Seattle, Washington.

Willis held a variety of jobs, some of which included motor vehicle operator and photo tech. In 1975 he retired from the military and went into civil service as a heating tech, retiring for medical reasons in 1985. He spent his retirement years fishing, building model ships, airplanes and miniature trains. He even built his own TV consol.

A resident of Lompoc since 1960, he was a member of the Elks Lodge #2274 and the National Rifle Association.

Willis is survived by his son, William Allen of Lompoc; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Dan Vallender of Arroyo Grande; son, Patrick Allen of Wasilla, Alaska; sister and brother-in-law, Carol and John Miller of Mesa, Arizona; brother and sister-in-law, Gilbert and Dorothy Allen of Spokane, Washington; brother Bob Allen of Pensacola, Florida; nine grandchildren, Jason Allen Parsons, Eric Andrew Allen, Amber Lee Allen, Desiree and Carl Leazott, Tyler Vallender, Nicholas Allen, Hawkins Allen, Patrick Allen and Mariah Allen, and three great grandchildren. His wife went to be with the Lord in 1992. His son Stephen Allen and daughter Christine Allen also preceded him in death.

At his request, no services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Starbuck-Lind Mortuary.
