Wilma Jean Hill of Lompoc died Sunday, November 11, 2007, at Cottage Hospital, Santa Barbara, California the age of 70.
Wilma was born February 15, 1937 to Willie Jones and Emma Jean Jones in Okemah, Oklahoma. She married Thirkiel Hill, Jr. July 9, 1954. She has been a resident of Vandenberg Air Force Base and Lompoc since 1971.
Wilma was a lifelong homemaker who loved to cook and sew for her family. She enjoyed making ceramics and watching baseball and basketball with family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Thirkiel Hill, Jr. of Lompoc and her children, Janice Hayes-Billings (Carl) of Conoga Park, Gregory Hill (Rochell) of Sacramento, Kevin Hill of Lompoc, and Anthony Hill of Florida; her grandchildren, Christopher Hayes, Nathan Harrison, Derek Caprio, Kevin Hill, II, Gregory Hill, Jr., and Larisha Hill; her grandchildren Kiana Hayes, Kyana Harrison, Kylia Harrison, Syriah Caprio and Xavier Caprio.
To honor Wilma's life there will be a memorial service on Saturday, November 17, 2007, at 11:30 am in the chapel of the Starbuck-Lind Mortuary. Cremation will be followed by private inurnment.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation, 6300 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 100, LA, CA 90048, The American Cancer Society, 604 E. Ocean Ave., Lompoc, CA 93436, or the Artificial Kidney Center in Lompoc.
