IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Winifred (Winnie)
Margaret Bazart
October 29, 1935 – August 14, 2022
Winifred (Winnie) Margaret Bazart, loving mother, passed away on Sunday August 14th, 2022 at the age of 86.
Winnie was born on October 29, 1935 in Bethnal Green, London, England to Henry Alfred Clarke and Hannah (Pettitt). She was the youngest of seven siblings. After being bombed out of her home during WWII, she grew up and was educated in Seven Kings,Essex. She was married to Paul Bazart, an American airman for 48 years until his passing.
Winnie was a loving, kind and devoted friend and mother. She never forgot the feeling of being an outsider while she was evacuated from London during World War II as a small child. This lead her to be empathetic to those in similar circumstances. She accumulated friends amongst other foreign wives of airmen. Winnie served as an excellent hostess to many English vacationers to the US. She was always concerned about the welfare of the other person. She loved music and her taste ran from Vera Lynn and Eddie Fisher to Daniel O'Donnell and Rod Stewart. We will miss her sparkling blue eyes and mischievous sense of humor.
She is survived by her son, David Bazart, of Glendale California, her sister Maureen Paddon of Brentwood, England and her niece, Jean McCalister of Sydney, Australia. She was predeceased by her husband Paul Bazart, two brothers, Ernie and Joey, three sisters, May, Dolly and Grace, and two special in-laws, Les Paddon and Jane Clarke.
A celebration of life will be held at the Chapel at Starbuck-Lind Mortuary at 11 am on Thursday, August 25, 2022.
