To our dear friends and family,
Thank you for your kind condolences, cards and flowers. We have been so touched by your care.
Mother passed peacefully in her home and into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Sept. 1, 2010 at 10:48 pm surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
The day of her departure she openly prayed and blessed each of her family members. Yes, she was weak and frail but her spirit was strong.
Mother was a homemaker for 60 years. She loved beautiful flowers, traveling, sewing, knitting, and always had her favorite pets near. She was quite adventurous taking a ride in an eighteen wheeler for her 81 birthday. Just this summer she was four wheeling with her sister in Ok. One of ten siblings you can imagine the adventure! Check her out on her granddaughter Charae Sand's Facebook. It's priceless.
Eating out was another favorite pastime and Monday mornings were special. Always colorful with her many scarves and neck warmers, she loved to dress! She and dad have served in many churches over the years and still loved by many who approach us daily.
Wynema is survived by her husband of 62 years, Charles Baird of "Baird's TV" sister Charlene Norton of Comanche Ok. Two brothers Bill Cooksey and Charles Cooksey of Duncan Ok. daughter Charlema Stevens of Marshall TX. and son Ronald Baird of Lompoc Ca. She has eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her favorite scripture Isa. 54:17 states, "No weapon formed against me shall prosper" and knowing the Lord made even her death a victory:
The family chose to gather at home and share our memories of mom, each having something of hers to cherish. Most of all, her legacy of faith which she imparted to us all.
May we say on her behalf, celebrate life! Be adventurous, use your pretty dishes, and most of all TELL your loved ones you love them. Hug somebody today, touch them with your love. That's what mother would have done....
Love to you all.
